### What comes back

One point of diversion, with its whole series: what it reported every year
from 1990 to 2023, its ten-year average, the irrigated area, and its highest
year on record. That series is the reason this site exists — it is not
rendered anywhere else in one view.

Nothing is searched on our servers. The index is a set of static files and
the lookup runs in your browser, which is why an individual record has no
address of its own and cannot be indexed as a page about somebody's land.

### ⚠️ You cannot search by address, and that is deliberate

A point of diversion is not located by an address. The source carries
coordinates; **we do not download them**. The pages carry the
county, the district and the aquifer region — wide units.

### ⚠️ What a blank does not mean

- **Not that there is no right.** This file covers points of
diversion as the Survey compiles them; a right can exist and not appear as
you expect.
- **Not that a right is unused.** A 0 in this file is not a finding. There are no blanks in the usage columns — every point carries a number for every year — so a nil return, a point that did not yet exist, and a report never filed all read the same. Kansas fines non-filing (USD 250 per file, USD 1,000 and suspension after 1 June), which is exactly why a missing report looks like a quiet year.
- **Not a meter reading.** These are the figures water-right holders reported. They describe declared use, not what a meter would have read, and they say nothing about the condition of a well or the state of the aquifer beneath it.

This is an independent copy, not the register. The Survey recommends that its data be taken directly from a KGS server rather than through another site that may have changed it — for anything a transaction depends on, use theirs.
